Can I Bring Water on Royal Caribbean?

Royal Caribbean is one of our favorite cruise lines for families and couples! While it can be expensive there are different ways to save money when sailing with Royal Caribbean and bringing your own drinks on board but beware that Royal Caribbean has rules for what you can bring on board. After all, they make a considerable amount of money from upsells.

Royal Caribbean allows each guest to bring one 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne to enjoy while sailing on embarkation day. This bottle must be brought on in your carryon bag.

Purchasing bottles of alcohol on board, in a port of call, or bringing more than one permitted bottle on embarkation day, will be stored “safely” by the ship.  These bottles will be returned on the last day of your sailing Just before debarkation.

If you try to bring hard liquor, beer, or seltzer on embarkation day, Royal Caribbean will seize it and not return it.

But what about water or soft drinks?

You can bring no more that 12 standard cans, bottles, or cartons per stateroom. That’s water, soda or juice. Shorter cruises, 4 nights or less, this is a great option for guests. If your sailing is longer, it’s better to consider some wort of drink package, be it a water, soda, or alcohol package.

Royal Caribbeans drink packages can vary in price but it’s always less expensive to purchase it prior to sailing than on board the ship.
